B24-J "Glamouras" tail # 440616 and "Hi Priority Stuff"
This plane stuff don't mean anything to me except that I ran across several pictures of the bomber B24-J "Glamouras" tail # 440616.
This information is stenciled on the plane itself
311 Photo group
Project No Dom. 158-A
US Army B-24J C.0. 190
Airforces Serial 44-40967 F-7B
I have another picture of the "Hi Priority Stuff" with the artists initials "..JP" in it. This bomber is sitting on the ground but the nose art is wonderful. It has another drawing of a "sad sack" soldier on it and below that is what looks like a cannon hole in the plane and right below that it likes the name "JEEP EXHAUST"
I found it this weekend when I was looking through some of my kinfolks old photos while I was in Oklahoma. I put a picture of it on the web so that you could get a look at it and on the original scan I made if I enlarge it to 150% so that I can see the pilot, starboard gunner and the forward gunner. The top gunner canopy has too much sun glare on it to make out the gunner there. This picture was taken from another bomber as they were flying over the ocean. How cool is that.
I don't know anything about these pictures. All I know is that they were part of my deceased mothers pictures that I found. Since she had them then I would figure that some of my kinfolks would have been a part of those bomber crews.
If you know who the crews were on these bombers then forward them to me so I will know which kinfolk to link it to.
If anybody wants or needs a larger picture then email me for it. I scanned the pictures at 200% and 400dpi so if you need a bigger picture, then let me know.
