you would see that there is no crash/accident report in the normal sense of the Form 14 we are familiar with. Also there is no MACR as the crew and passengers were not missing in that sense either.
Since the passengers were not part of the 436th TCG themselves, their names are not recorded in their. It is felt that they were probably members of Engineering or other support units.
The only two men that we can suggest MIGHT have been on the aircraft are these two , bearing in mind that most others were probably returned home to their families after the war.
Cpl Fred A Hall 34744224 4064th QM Svc Coy 31 July 1944 but buried in Florenece so less likely we feel
Pvt Frank B Green 36871031 812th Eng Av Btn 31 July 1944 buried in Nettuno.
So the question was if there was records of the interments in Nettuno with that date of death - and I don't mean the ABMC website, it only reflects those remaining after repatrications.
Might have to get some one to search in NARA I guess.
