451 bombardment group

I am seeking any information about my father-in-law, Vernon G. Slavich (deceased). He was a navigator in the 727 bomb squadron in Castellucio from Oct. 1944 - April 1945. My husband, Vernon's son, and I have been reading letters that he sent home during this time, but he never names any of the men he served with. We are trying to 'fill some holes' and any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

My Father was in the 451st,, 727th bomb group, as a crew chief! I have some pics left here I believe of him and his unit in WW2 but a lot of them I donated to the Willow Run air museum in Yipsilanti,Mi where the B-24 bombers were built ! My father was a member there and also helped restore the B-17 that flies out of there now!  The museum curator said they were building a new museum and would do a special thing about the 451st and my father along with the unit citations i donated from the 451st! He passed in 2003, Great to talk about the unit though! If theres anything I can help with,Let me know!
