April 21, 1945: daily operations report - 10/29/2007 03:05:59 AM ( #1 )
Hello all,
with the purpose of listing all air-to-ground fighter missions flown in the province of Modena, Po Valley, I am looking for April 21, 1945 daily operations report of the 350th FG. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

21/April/45 was a busy day for Modena I see. 3 of the six missions of the 345th FS mention Modena and there abouts specifically. I will check the other squadrons as well and see what else I find. Are there co-ordinates you are particularly interested in?

Hi Keith,
many thanks for the attachment. Yes, I would be interested in the following co-ordinates: L6575 (Bomporto area, 15 km NE of Modena). In this village, near the bridge over the Panaro River, a full column of HDV's was destroyed by P-47's of 350th FG. It was an objective of opportunity, only strafing. About 15 HDV's belonging to 94th Infantry Division were burned: some soldiers KIA, all the horses dead.

Dear Carlo,
I believe this is the mission to which you refer.

Dear Keith,
thank you for the further attachment. I believe that these strafing missions occurred farther north of Bomorto (L6575), near the town of San Felice where 1 Tiger tank of 504. schwere Panzer Abteilung was destroyed by strafing. I see one of the pilots was Lt Addison Bachman: the next day, 22 April 1945, he was shot down and KIA by Flak south of Modena.
Thanks again

Mick,
Observations in Reggio Emilia are mentioned. Squares L, K, and O are mentioned. DO you have any co-ordinates I should be looking for. There were many missions flown between the 19 to the 23. I will continue to look for you.

Mick,
I gathered the data for the 345th for you. I still have the other three squadrons to gather. Too many pages to post here. I tried to send you some pdfs but I imagine I have an old email for you from long ago. I do have all of the squadrons info gathered for Carlo's request for the 21/Apr/45.

Grandpa bombed a Nazi Hdqtrs bldg on 10-11-44. He doesn't list a location, but all the missions on dates near this one were all in your area. I don't have a DOR yet.

I also have a mission on April 10, 1945 to dive bomb a sugar refinery (Kershaw flt. leader, B. Rhay took flak damage, Rice and A. Thompson). Sorry, no name, no coordinates and no DOR -- after the attack on the refinery they proceded to strafe Aviano airdrome, if that helps.
