Victor H. Whistler

Looking for anyone who may have served with my uncle, Victor H. Whistler, 339th Fighter Squadron, who was shot down in the South Pacific (Vella La Vella?) on Sept. 30, 1943.  He was originally from Connorsville, WI.  He is my namesake.
