39th FS Post War markings inquiry

Hi there,
 
I have come across a rare picture of a 39th FS F-51D taken post war.
 

 
The brief details say "F-51D 39thFS - Johnson Field, Japan, 1949".
 
My question is, as there are no other visible markings, might anyone kindly know whether there was anything painted on the front section of the tail...serial number,  Sqdn letters etc ?
 
Any advise gratefully received.

    Hi Nate.........these are 39FS at Johnson about 1950; tail stripes are left-over from WW2, squadron colour on front fin tip (probably light blue as during war). Serials are still on vertical tails but sometimes overpainted on rudders.               Nick

    39FS after moving to Korea; no rudder stripes, full serials, with "US AIR FORCE" above, tail tip squadron colour, designators below cockpit----" FF " = F-51, plus last 3 of serial.
    Diagonal bands on 910 probably flight leaders.                Regards   Nick
