The U.S. Navy version of the B-24, the PB4Y-2 Privateer, flew patrol missions during the Korean War with all of them being retired in 1954. Unarmed PBY4-2G served up through 1958. PBY4-2 aircraft were used as drones up through the early 1960s. Then, some were converted into aerial tankers to fight forest fires. One such tanker broke up in flight while fighting a forest fire on 18 July 2002.
Hope this helps.
