P-47 ID

I am trying to locate any information on P-47D28-RA 42-28924, flown by the 508th FS/404th FG in 1944/45. This was the last plane my dad flew & was to be his personal plane to replace 42-25704 in May'45 if he signed up for another combat tour. Thanks, Tom

    I believe this aircraft was coded 7J-B. Taken from microfilm images of flight lists for the 404th Fighter Group.
