Help Identifying a patch

Team,
I am new here and a huge buff, I have found a real hoppy in tracking down for relatives stories of their family members on the little or no info they may have about their loved one who served in the War.
Here is a patch from my Kids Grand Dad who never told them anything about what he did.
I think he was in the 9th Air Force and moved along the battle advances.
I also believe he was a munitions loader and his unit did provide escorts and were involved with the Battle of the Bulge.
Any assistance in identifying his group and squadron would be much help.
Thanks,
Sam

Welcome.  The book World War II Combat Squadrons of the U.S. Air Force shows the emblem to be for the 485th Fighter Squadron which flew as part of the 370th Fighter Group in the 9th Air Force. They flew P-38s and P-47s across Europe, based in England, France, then Germany.
Amazon has a book on the fighter group

Probably full of info.  Also you can Google up th 370th Fighter Group and get information on the 485th Fighter Squadron. Also, check out the 370th Fighter Group forum on this board.
Guy probably didn't share because it was pretty brutal work.  Not something to dump on kids.   Happy hunting.
