    Hi !

Was the RCM equipment AN/APQ-9 only used in B17’s ?

As from when was it this equipment taken into service by the 8th Air Force ?

The B-17 Flying Fortress Story, by Roger A.Freeman with David Osborne, mentions :

    B17G-70-DL 44-6876 to 44-7000 : RCM equipment AN/APT-2 and AN/APQ-9 Group parts added from 44-6900.

Was this equipment also used in the batches B17G-75-.. till B17G-110-.. ?

Many thanks and best regards from Belgium

    Luc

This is slightly off-topic, but I found this post about the German radar systems this set was trying to jam.
Some interesting details about how the radars worked and what they could detect.

The typical spot jammer setup in a plane was one receiver (to detect the frequencies being used by the radars) and 3 transmitters.
