Thx a lot for foto suggestions !!!
I can deal with them within a few days.
dnalor's original window frame photos moved forward to forum page 2 full screen.
The problem is, these frames can not be from a P-38. The P-38 windows cranked up and down.
these window frames has way too much extra bits that would get in the way of the channels, making it impossible for them to move
the frames evidently do not measure the original p-38 side windows. The true measurments are 25 3/4 inch long, 18 1/2 inch high, 1/4 inch thick, thanks to Jim Graham.
Our first assumption that they were windows was-were a brace (two?) (metallic ribbon), but it is mounted in rectangular not diagonal. See the pic. The brace etc was lying beside the frames. Did not watch a wire or similar.
The screws /nuts should be American ? No production number found!
The mystery goes on...
Like Dave said it can be an Me-110.
More Bf110 canopy examples.
many thx for yr appr. work and help!
Your fotos are resembling our "windows " so much, one would say they are our wanted.....
I really like these fotos as I never saw such a high quality German Bf-110 cockpit earlier before.
But: See next message
What happened to your "See next message" ?
Evidently deleted, Alex,
don´t know why.
I expect it is just some kind of technical hitch, were the attachments too large perhaps ?
Anyway from what you had sent to me it sure seems to show parts of a P38, so these two(?) 2ft by 1ft frames I would expect are from the wing frame.
