    Hello Jaap,

I have Sgt Crum's IDPF, but it doesn't give details on who was flying the P-47 that day. There was a Major Frederick O'Neill with the group, but I do not show a McNeil. I have also not heard the date of the accident as being 26 September, but actually 2 October. Do you have further info?

    Hi Darin,

Probably he was wounded the 26th and was DOW 2nd October. I dont have further information
    so it can be O'Neil.

The crew chief on my dad's plane related this story to me several years ago, and I had never been able to verify it until I saw the attached page. I have never found an accident report for this incident. They must not have filed an AAF Form 14 for things like this.
