An all call came out from one of my Facebook Pages on the 379th BG. This photo was on a memorial wall at a facility that has closed down and they want to return the photo to the Veterans family but no one knows the who what where on how to find them. They are trying to find his Obit or his last residence area to possibly have a search area .

I have attached some data about his service

According to the MACR he was from San Antonio, TX and did not have a middle name.

He was born in 1919 according to his enlistment record. There is a SS record of a Delmar Bonham, born 26 December 1919 and died 17 Dec 1983 in Bellvue, Larimer County CO. The SS# was issued in Texas.

Bellvue is an unincorporated town near Fort Collins.

(There is also a Delmar L Bonham, Salinas KS, also born in 1919 and served in the army, but is a different person).

This link, by the Cheyenne Historical Society (search for Delmar on the Page) seems to say that they have on microfilm a newspaper article published 19 Dec 1983 about a "Delmar Bonham". http://cghswyoming.org/newspapers__bianco_-_braman.html

Since 19 Dec 1983 is two days after he died, that "may" be his obit. Why it would appear in a Wyoming newspaper, I don't know. You can contact the Society under "Research Requests" on their home page: http://cghswyoming.org/main_page.html

Here is Delmar listed in the 1973 Fort Collins City Directory. Wife's? name appears to be Essie M.
    I believe she died May 6, 1988.

A later address for Essie M.

In the 1940 census Delmar is still at home age 20. Mother is Bess--age 40--widowed. It does not appear that Delmar had any siblings--so is an only child. It also appears that Delmar and Essie did not have any children--so the only "family" would appear to be thru Essie's brother Lemuel Sullivan.

Could not find the Bonham family in 1920 or 1930. Expect damaged image or misspelled name.

Here appears to be the obit of the brother of Essie, Lemuel Sullivan.

The 1930 census shows Essie M, born about 1923 living with Nolan and Madge Sullivan in Texas.
Also in the family is L C Sullivan (Lemuel C) age 1.

There appears to be a Cynthia Yvette McElveen living in San Antonio. She may be the daughter mentioned in the obit. Address is easy to find in San Antonio via anywho.com using the name Cynthia McElveen.
