1. The AAF forum will close permanently on December 1, 2017. The forum archives, past and present, were successfully transferred to the Heritage League of the Second Air Division. Two conditions were agreed upon; 1) all user email addresses would be protected, and 2) all private messages would remain private. On Dec 1st, the AAF domain will convert to a simple landing page to stay out of spammer hands.

399th Bomb Group accident

    Here is another (previous 399th crash posted in the 494th BG forum) 399th accident photo - this one is listed as a landing accident - I'll be ordering the crash report tomorrow!

    From this photo it is hard to believe that the plane was written off! I am assuming that is what w/o means.

    Agree, the damage did not look too sever for this ship to be written off but that is how Baugher has it recorded, perhaps an error. Should be interesting to learn what you find in the accident report.

    Aviation Archaeology has her class 4 which is major repairs
