    Hello everybody,

Our youngest daughter Melissa has adopted a fighter pilot who lost his life during WWII.
His name is 2nd Lt Eugene W Maben Jr.
He lost his life on Oct 18th 1943.
We did have seen the articles on the internet and also have his MACR.
By a newspaper we received some other articles, but every other information would be welcome.

    Thank you.

Some time ago I posted an album of my photos of the 355th Fighter Group in the media section of this web site. Check this link:

I don't have a picture of Lt Maben but you might find the album interesting anyway. The images may appear to be full size but they are actually large thumbnails. You can click on any image which will open it full size on another page which will include an icon to download that picture.

Here is a link to a memorial page for Lt Maben which includes links to his parents: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=56359526
I've attempted to enhance the photo of his grave marker that is posted on that link but was unable to do much with it.

Here is a link to his page at the American Battle Monuments Commission: https://www.abmc.gov/node/548359#.WIQKmlzPc14
and the page for the Ardennes American Cemetery: https://www.abmc.gov/cemeteries-memorials/europe/ardennes-american-cemetery#.WIQKUFzPc14

In the past you could make a request for the cemetery to take a photo of the individual grave marker. Don't know if they still do that but worth snooping around the ABMC web site to see what you can find out.

We knew about the picture and website, Thank you for that. It's a beautiful photo and Melissa is really happy knowing how her soldier looked alike.
