This was known as "Mission Red Ball". It involved 28 C-47s from 3 squadrons from the 438th. It was a small combat operation and no enemy fire was encountered. They had fighter escort throughout the mission. I think because it was small and trouble free there is not much to say on the mission so I am having trouble finding specific. Can anyone tell me what three of the 4 squadrons flew? Does anyone have any names of the pilots who flew?
