I've got a few of the other photos and documents that went the first time it was up on ebay. World War 2 Sales got the majority of it and then put up the photos individually. I've got some info on MacGregor. PM me and lets talk.

Jon
Re:Seeking: 52nd FG, 4th FS, 12th Air Force (einflieger)

Nick, thank you for the information. I am still awaiting the arrival of the book, but I look forward to seeing the photo. This is a link to the grouping of items I have related to Mr. MacGregor on my personal website: http://www.danielsww2.com/page26.html. Thanks again Nick for the assistance and information!
Clint
Re:Seeking: 52nd FG, 4th FS, 12th Air Force (buckeyeuk)

Hi Clint the photo of Mac's plane on p. 35 of this book says a Mk. Vc , it was actually built as a Vb with a Merlin 46 ( ie. it didn't have the stub fairings for extra cannon outboard of the existing 2 X 20mm. ).
Serial was EP965, WD--M; it has his name in typical white script by the cockpit and the "Georgia Peach" may be in black on the nose. Finish is overseas Desert Scheme with Sky or Light Mediterranen Blue undersides rather than Azure Blue ( note the very light shade).
An ID letter from a previous assignment ( probably 241 Sqn. RAF ) was painted out behind the fuselage star which has a thin yellow outline; 241 did not carry their squadron code ( RZ) on Mk.Vs but did later on Mk.IXs, their normal equipment at this time (early 1943) being Hurricanes.
EP965 was believed written off in March 1943.
Nick
Seeking: 52nd FG, 4th FS, 12th Air Force (einflieger)

I am looking for a photograph of a Spitfire flown by Wallace Fletcher MacGregor while serving in the 4th Fighter Squadron. The Spitfire he flew had the name "Georgia Peach" on the cowling of the aircraft. If anyone has any leads or a photograph of this aircraft, I would enjoy hearing from you. I have already ordered a copy of the book relating to Spitfires and Yellow Tails. Thanks!
