My Dad was Alvoy J. Carter and his record shows being held at Stalag Luft 3 Sagan-Silesia Bavaria moved to Nuremberg-Langwasser. He was tailgunner for the flight shot down with Col Jacob Smart 10 May 1944. If someone knows the name and has a picture of the crew of that flight I would appreciate seing it. Even more if some one knew him I would appreciate hearing from them. I know the places of captivity may not make sense as they are written but that is how they are shown in his record of captivity> Thanks very much to "The Crew" or anyone who has any info. Coy N. the plane mentioned by coyyoc was MACR# 4722; B-17 G 25 VE; A/C# 42-97655; 97BG - 414 BS; crashed 10 May 44 near Wr. Neustadt.

Crew:

Col.Smart Jacob E. - Austin, Tx
Hill, Homer T.- Austin, Tx
McCarthy Joseph J.- Saddle River, NJ
La Sater /(Lasater) Haskell P. - Sinton, Tx
Rinck Edward Jr. - East Orange, NJ
Flamingo Rocco J. - East ???, Ma
Zohler Edwin R.- Syracuse, Ny
Anderson Ronald D. - Reading, Pennsilvania
Carter Alvoy J.- Childress, Tx
Kehrberger Elmer C. - Chicago, Illinois

Due to the fact that Col. Smart lost 6 men of his (original?) crew near Wr. Neustadt during mission 267 on April, 23, 1944, (they bailed out) the men listed above could have been part of another crews.
The six men later returned to Italy, including Radar officer Thomas Carroll.
