Norwood 93rd BG, 409th (93rd joe)</title><description> Terry&lt;br&gt;     &amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt;     &amp;nbsp;I see that you are looking for info on Ples Norwood -93rd BG&amp;nbsp; 409th sq top turret gunner on the ship S/N 41-24298 that flew on the Ploesti mission.&lt;br&gt;     &amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt;     I just returned from the 93rd BG Reunion in Shreveport, LA. were the group started in 1942 at Barksdale, AFB. One of the veterans that attended that reunion was Llewellyn Brown,original 93rd BG&amp;nbsp; 409 sq pilot of Ples Norwoods ship S/N 41-24298 over Ploesti.&lt;br&gt;     &amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt;     Lew is one of the treats that shows up at these great outings with the 93rd BG. Another original 93rd BG 409 sq veteran still around is Ben Kuroki -Red Ass and Tupelo Lass top turret gunner on the Ploesti mission. PBS did a great job on a documentary on Ben called (Most Honorable Son) last year. Ples Norwood who was assigned to the 93rd BG, 409th Sqd.&lt;br&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt; The information I have is that Ples was the top turret gunner on the 93rd's Queenie S/N 41-24298 on the Ploesti mission on August 1, 1943.&lt;br&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt; A notation from the WWII Memorial web site lists:&lt;br&gt; T/Sgt. Ples W.
