However one shot shows the last 3 digits on the gondola nose of "018" which would match one of your serial numbers. Sorry I can't offer more.

RE: Details on the 154 Recce Sqdn please (Terry T.)

These are the 154th WS P-38 I have
43-28768 P-38J-15-LO
43-28744 P-38J-15-LO
44-24065 P-38L-1-LO
42-67040 P-38H-5-LO
42-67029 P-38H-5-LO
42-104018 P-38J-15-LO
42-104263 P-38J-15-LO

Terry T.

RE: Details on the 154 Recce Sqdn please (air nut)

According to their squadron history published in 1946 they received their first fighter version p-38s in January or early February 1944 and operated the type to the end of the war. There is also a photo of a radar equipped F-5 they received later in the war. The history states they had 28 P-38 losses in action and accidents.

RE: Details on the 154 Recce Sqdn please (Terry T.)

 I have them also flying P-38H, J & L models

Terry T.

RE: Details on the 154 Recce Sqdn please (shooshoobaby)

 Alex -
Designated 154th WRS 5/12/44
Flew F - 4 , P - 38 G and J Models 1944 - 1945
Based at Bari.
2,153 Sorties - Losses unknown
P - 38s numbered 1 - 20
# 0n Nose and Outer Coolant Radiator Housing
Only one shown is P -38J #10
Serial # 43 - 28744
15th Air Force by Kenn Rust
Mike

Details on the 154 Recce Sqdn please (Alex Smart)

 Hi,

Details wanted on the 154th Recce sqdn wanted please.

When did they start useing the F-5 and for how long ?
What Losses did the Squadron suffer of the F-5?

Any info on the F-5 serial numbers

Thanks
Alex
