Edward F. "Lucky" Smith

I just spoke to my grandmother and she told me she has copies of some of his flight records for 1945 - and the names of the crew members on those letters are different from the names of the crew on the B24 he is pictured with - So I get the impression he might have been on different planes with different crew members during his course of time there -

As soon as I found out about the other crew I will let you know -

I know that on my picture - some names of his crew included Talbot, VE Smith, Neal, Moffit, Pallack(sp?), etc... Once again - as soon as I found out the names of the others - I will let you know. That's great that you have a yearbook - how did you come about getting that?

Alex

RE: 404th BS (H) of the Eleventh Air Force (Alx M)

Thank you very much - it's funny - I hae been looking at the picture of his crew for years but only recently when I visited a working B-24 did I get bit by a bug to learn more - I bought a DVD - Reports from the Aleutians - Reading Log of the Liberator - and trying to get more info - but thanks. I will definitely keep you on board as a reference.

Cheers -

Alex

404th BS (H) of the Eleventh Air Force (Alx M)

Any info on B-24s in the Aleutians between '43 and '45 - especially relating to the Kuriles - my g-father was a 20 yo Pfc photog. during this time and I am trying to get more info - I have names of crew members, all of mil. paperwork - but lookin for more specifics - he said the name of the plane was, "The Flying Deuce" -

Thanks - Alex M

alliemac70@hotmail.com
