According to the Navigator's debrief (2Lt Castles), they were on the bomb run and about two minutes away from bombs away when they were hit. Their target that day was the Rothensee Oil Refinery. I also got the MACR (12882) for that mission to Madgeburg on March 3, 1945. Looking for information on Flanzer, Charles P. O-886643, 2LT, 703 BS, KIA 3 Mar 45. The MACR 12882 shows him as a "nose turret navigator". Don't know what that is. Help ?

I am also interested in any information about the crew

Re:S/Sgt Eugene G. Sullivan (rhammans)

Rick,

Good deductions. Station 144 was Old Buckenham. The 453rd website, at http://www.453rd.com/, has the group's original unit history, "Liberator Men of Old Buc" available as a free .pdf download. You may well find some information there. This is an actual photo? I was at dinner tonight with my mother and sister and we enlarged it. Wow! What a shot! I've seen paintings like this, but no real photos.
