I pulled out some of the 1943 DORs (of a sort). It appears the 345thhad three P-38G-10-LO but I have to figure out the paper work on these.I haven't done much with the early years and the paper work is morecryptic. I see listed P-38-G15-LO, P-38-G1

Re:347FS, loss of its 2nd P-38 (RAF_112_Sqdn)

Humm would be nice if they listed the suspected 5 that where transferred out Keith. or at least Jameson's pancake.

Re:347FS, loss of its 2nd P-38 (RAF_112_Sqdn)

Thanks for the gem of information Tom, so now if I got things sorted out there are a least seven P-38 that we know of in 350Fg at around this time

Re:347FS, loss of its 2nd P-38 (Little Vic II)

345th, 346th, and 347th were assigned on 1/Jun/43, 2 P-38s each.

I have that the P-38 were withdrawn in Sept/43. they went to foggia with the new strategic 15th AF

I have a list of the claims that I will post soon.

Actully, the 347th had 3 P-38's, as recorded in the squadron "News"paper "De-NUSS-Ance" on May 30th, 1943 Tahar Airdrome, N. Africa): "Our A/C strength consists of 26 P-39's and 3 P-38's."
