Information and pictures wanted for B17 website - 07/19/2008 04:43:20 PM
Hi

I'm just writing to you to let you know about a new website i'm working on - B17-FlyingFortress.co.uk, I plan to have News on the remaining B-17s, stories from ww2, pictures videos and a lot of general information about the B-17.

I was wondering if any of you would be able to help out at all with any pictures, video clips, war stories or any general information at all?

I'm hoping to have enough content for the website in the next couple of months, so looking to launch it fully in september.

Many thanks

Vince Pettit

Vince,  I am attaching the "link" to the Yankee Air Museum Web which is loaded with B-17 pics ( including current restored airworthy pics). You might have to surf awhile, but it will be well worth it.  The focal point will be our own YAM, Yankee Lady, but there are pics of all the air worthy Libs in the USA today.  In particular, if you go to the Yankee Photo Gallery (right side) and scroll down to Thunder Over Micigan,2005, you will come upon about 13 Libs!  We are proud of the Site!  Lots of other great pics too including the two Libs, many fighters, etc.  Good Surfing!  Best Regards!  Steven

As it happens I was reading about Yankee Air Museum in the August edition of Aeroplane! Think i'm going to have to save some money up and make the trip over from the UK at some point in the future!!

Hello Vince,

I am fortunate enough to live close to Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona. The field is the home of the Arizona Wing of The Commemorative Air Force and the B-17G, Sentimental Journey. When the bomber is not touring, we can watch it fly over our house almost every week end. I tour the facility and it's aircraft quite often and would be happy to film any videos or still shots you would like. Just let me know the specifics of what you are needing. I have been to Kingman Arizona, and regret to say that very little remains of the remains of all the  B17's that were shipped there at wars end.
