Hi,

I'm trying to find the number of the MACR for 2 Lt. Ralph M. Nathan.

2 Lt. Ralph M. Nathan is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten and his grave is adopted. At the moment we don't have that much information on him or his unit, so every little bit of info is more than welcome.

Nicole,

Ralph M. Nathan was from NYC, born in 1920. He entered military service on 21 Jul 1941.
His C-47 apparently crashed near Linz, Austria.

325th Ferry Squadron was part of 31st Air Transport Group (9th AF), and was based at Grove (Berkshire), England.

Groet,

Leendert

The 325th Ferry Sq was activated 9 Dec 43 under the 27th Air Transport Group at RAF Maghabery, In Jan 44 it was reassigned to the 31st Transport Group, in May 44 it moved to RAF Heston, then to RAF Northolt, RAF Grove, and RAF Bovingdon later in the year.  Shortly after the end of the war the 31st Transport Group became a Troop Carrier Group as the 516th Troop Carrier Group and the 325th Ferry Sq became the 324th Troop Carrier Sq.  It served on the continent at Bremen(?), Villacoublay(?) and Istres le Tube Afld before returning to the US for inactivation at Bolling Fld, DC on 30 Sep 46.  It was also briefly active in the reserves in 1947.
