Franz Stigler's Bf.109 Aircraft - 05/31/2008 11:54:38 AM
I need help with some information on Franz Stigler's Bf.109 during December 20, 1943 over Bremen when he escorted a B-17 to safety?

What model 109 was it  F, G or K?

What JG unit was he with and what was the Unit emblem on the cowl?

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew        it was a G and the unit was 6.Staffel/JG27; the nose insignia was that of the II.Gruppe, a black bear on a white shield outlined red.
These are the arms of the City of Berlin which the Gruppe was assigned to defend since early in the war.
