According to Joe Baugher:

43-15076 went to Civil registry as : LV-XFM

Then went to Frontier Airlines as N53376

Bob, here is one thread if you do not have found it yet:
http://www.6juin1944.com/assaut/aeropus/page.php?page=s16
43-15076 (Douglas c/n 19542). 97th TCS had squadron code W6 painted on nose. 97th TCS was detached to Ombrone, Italy, 18.07.44 - 24.8.44 (together with 95th and 96th TCS). Base for D-Day operations was Exeter, England.

Another source has a reference to 440th TCG research:

In postwar service; Argentina, later Challenger A/L and Frontier A/L, Air Manila in 1964.

I have the official Group History book for the 440th TCG and there is nothing in it about the airplanes they flew in combat.  The book is a reprint of the original and is called DZ EUROPE  The Story of the 440th Troop Carrier Group

Thanks to all for helping with this search. The information supplied
and the research links were just the type of info I was hoping for.
