My Father's dischage papers list his AAF organization as "2D Weather Reconnaiissance Squadron" he was in the India Burma area 1945-46. What Wing did this Squadron belong to? Any other info would be helpful. He flew B25's.

Glenn, if you go to the following link you'll see the name "John Drake". His father was also part on the 2nd Weather Recon in the CBI with the 10th AF. He has contact information posted there. http://mb.wwiimemorial.com/messagesview.asp?key=3285 Good luck, Jim

The 2d Weather Reconnaissance Sq, Air Route (Medium) was at Gusharka, India between 1 Feb 44 and 28 Dec 45. I believe it was probably assigned to the India China Div of the Air Transport Command since the 1st and 3rd squadrons were assigned to ATC.
Bernie Shearon Push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. Pull the stick back, the houses get smaller (unless you keep pulling -- then they get bigger again)

My grandfather, John Emmett Drake, served as a Radio Operator in CBI. There were three flights, A-B-C, with one in Gushkara India which was the main base, one in Colombo Ceylon and one in Chengtu China. If you or you know anyone who served in this squadron please contact me for sharing of information. I have gathered quite a bit over the past three years thanks to the internet. Daffyjeeps@aol.com
