Hello,

Thanks for looking - my name is Lizzie Toms and I am based in the UK.  I am currently making a series about American pilots who stayed in English homes or establishments during WW2.

The title of the documentary is 'Stately Homes at War' and it concerns the role of stately homes which were requisitioned during the war to act as a rest and relaxation hub for pilots who had accomplished a certain number of missions or were suffering from fatigue.

I have been filming at Spetchley House, in Worcestershire, England where the owners remember the pilots very fondly - there was still lots of evidence from their stay, namely etchings of their names in the cellar (which the owners kept) and some amazing photos and stories. I would love to find pilots who stayed there - unfortunately my search has come up with nothing (unfortunately the Red Cross simply did not have the records any longer).

I also want to film at Coombe House in Dorset and Roke Manor in Hampshire, but to be honest as I am obviously dictated by the pilots who stayed at the houses I am keen to just put a general call out to any pilots who stayed at such houses in England, and who might be interested in taking part with the documentary.

If you would like further information please do not hesitate to email me at  lizzietoms@hotmail.com.

Many thanks,

Lizzie Toms
