Hi, new (but old!) member here, Capt. John Harris.  I served in the 2nd Air Commando Squadron between 1942 and 1946, flew P51D's with missions in Southeast Asia; i.e., Burma, Thailand and China.  Any of you 2nd ACG guys still kicking around?

Hi John,
Welcome!  I hope you enjoy this forum.  Lots of interesting people here.
May I ask if you've written your "memoirs"?  The true history can really only be written by participants - telling what they saw.  Get enough of those and the picture gets really big and detailed.  If you're published (or self publsihed) be sure to post how to get a copy.  I'm sure lots of people here would be interested.
Thanks for your service.  Welcome, and I look forward to seeing your postings in the future.

Hello John   I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. You may be interested in this list, the DUC mission to Don Muang (now Bangkok Airport); the field you took off from (Cox's Bazar) was part of a complex of around 20 RAF airfields , mostly fighters. Note no. 52 at bottom !
The air claims were Oscars by Chase and Dixon and a Sally shared by Buxton and Holman.
Modine was shot down by flak.
Regards
Nick

thanks for all the information, seeing all those names  took me back in time some 66 years and
a lot of old names I haven't heard of in years
