B-17 Crash 20 Jan 1945 near Guisberg, France?

I am attempting to find the name of a B-17 that crashed near Guisberg, France on 20 January 1945.  It had become lost in the heavy overcast skies and the crew bailed out.

Any suggestions on where to look?  I don't know that MACRs would help because the plane crashed in Allied held territory and the crew members were probably all recovered.

Thank you

Hello, I am researching the airplanes in my grand fathers flight log books. I wanted to post that Dec 6, 1943 Hubert Lesley, Jr. 301BG, 352nd flew the B-17G number
43-38281. I am trying to find out if any of these planes listed still exist.

Callie...43-38281 was not assigned to the 301st.
From Roger Freeman and David Osborn's The B-17 Flying Fortress Story :

43-38281   Del Cheyenne 17/7/44. Kearney 25/7/44. Grenier 9/8/44. ass 326BS 92BG.

This cannot be the aircraft your grandfather flew on
Dec 6,1943, as it was mfg in 1944, and was not delivered to Cheyenne, until 17/7/44.

Please re-check the serial number again, and post the correct serial number. :-)

Also...Please re-check your dates....I think you possibly mean the year "1944"....not 1943

Jim :-)

I am wrong about the date. I was so excited to see that number. It was 1946. He has an engine number listed, the it says Lubbock to Kingman.  Can I post photos of the log on here? I would love to have help locating anything and everything.
Most of his logs say Foggia.
Sorry for jumping the gun on that one and not double checking.

Callie...Now I am confused :

43-38281 Del Cheyenne 17/7/44; Kearney 25/7/44; Grenier 9/8/44;ass 326BS/92BG (JW-A), Podington 10/8/44; trns 412BS/95BG (QW-Z), Horham 11/8/44, ret US Bradley 21/8/45 4168 BU Sth Plains 24/6/45;RFC Kingman 6/12/45
KIMMIE KAR FOR 9

Please RECHECK the aircraft serial number...43-38281 flew with the 8th AF..yet, you say most of his logs say Foggia...Foggia was/is in Italy...and was in the 15th AF.

You say also that he was with the 301st BG 452nd BS.

The 301st Air Field was at Lucera, one of the German Fields around Foggia, that were used by the 5th Wing B-17s.

2nd BG was at Amendola
97thBG was at Amendola
99thBG was at Tortorella
301stBG  was at Lucera
463rdBG was at Celone
483rd BG was at Sterperone

The following 43-38*** aircraft were 301st aircraft :
43-38483
43-38484
43-38487
43-38492
43-38495
43-38500
43-38505

Now I am confused. All the papers I have say 301st 352nd 8th, and some say the 15th air force. He has a training log book and a combat log book. Most of the planes are B-17G's and that number was written in his book. I am trying to find out the provisions, but can't find them on here. His listed combat dates are on the 301BG site.
I am trying to find out anything and when I saw that serial number posted I assumed it was/is the same aircraft. The logs books are dated 43-46. Is there anyway that plane was used as a training plane, then used in combat?
To be honest, I am very new to this and hope to learn as much as I can. May I email you personally? I would love for someone to help decipher his logs so I don't sound ignorant in the future.
