Burial Registers

Hello.
 
I wonder if anyone has such a thing as a burial register or archive copy of burials at the Sicily-Rome cemetery prior to 1948 when bodies were sent home to the US and elsewhere.
I asked the ABMC and they eventually told me that all the old records from the period are with the NARA (I'm in Ireland).
 
I trying to help some Italians to find the names of 9 African-American soldiers who apparently died in a C-47 crash of the 436th TCG on July 31st 1944.  Details thus far are on this thread on another forum :

Note the AFHSO do not have any extra information on the crash and in anycase the men were passengers of the 436th so the unit records would less likely to contain their names in any case.
I hoped that maybe old burial registers from 1944-1948 might indicate total burials for that date, July 31st.

I gather you have the accident report?
 
From Joe Baughers serials:
43-15153 (c/n 19619, 436th TCG) crashed Jul 29, 1944, 50 km SE of Naples, Italy.

you would see that there is no crash/accident report in the normal sense of the Form 14 we are familiar with.  Also there is no MACR as the crew and passengers were not missing in that sense either.
 
Since the passengers were not part of the 436th TCG themselves, their names are not recorded in their.  It is felt that they were probably members of Engineering or other support units.
The only two men that we can suggest MIGHT have been on the aircraft are these two , bearing in mind that most others were probably returned home to their families after the war.
 
Cpl Fred A Hall 34744224 4064th QM Svc Coy 31 July 1944 but buried in Florenece so less likely we feel
Pvt Frank B Green 36871031  812th Eng Av Btn  31 July 1944  buried in Nettuno.
So the question was if there was records of the interments in Nettuno with that date of death - and I don't mean the ABMC website, it only reflects those remaining after repatrications.
Might have to get some one to search in NARA I guess.

These two fellows are buried aprox 200mi apart. in there first bural sites.
 
I would guess off hand the one's from the crash would most likely be orginally buried together & moved to a permante burial site at a later date. 
 
What might be done is to get the load list for that aircraft for its destination on the date it crashed,

I'd say there are nil chances to get this kind of load information, the AFHSO do not have it, unless some 436th enthusiasts have it I doubt and therefore burial records are the best shot.
 
I expect it was just a routine trooping mission with little admin behind it, its not a para troop dropping mission.

A break through, a member of the other forum checked his copy fo the microfilm closer and found that the crew were:

pilot Lt. Howard B. Wank,
co-pilot Lt. Marvin (NMI) Butz,
crew chief Sgt. Raymond H. Kelley,
radio operator S/Sgt. Charles T. Taylor
 
and the passengers killed came from the
904th Air Base Security Battalion

Please check my posts on 12 o'clock high for possible identification of the nine casualties of 43-15153. 
They are buried together at Jefferson Barracks with date of death 31 July 1944.
