3rd Attack Group Web Site

Hello
As Jack stated twice, the 3rd Attack Group has a site of its own now. It is not a link to someone elses site, but one dedicated
specifically to remembering the 3rd BG.
It has quite a few large size & edited images on it. What it lacks are people stepping forth ( The people who have been studying this group for years) and contributing information that might, just might,  clarify things for dummies as myself. All I do is photo editing. I don't run the site or own it. I set it up so veterans like Jack Heyn & Bill Beck, to name just two, would have a place to go and be finally recognized with THEIR OWN WEB SITE.
As it is still in developmental stages, it only has a sub domain listing at the moment. http://3rdattackgroup.yolasite.com/ .
Once more - It is a site specifically 3rd BG related. It's not 8th Squadron, 13th Squadron , 89th Squadron or 90th Squadron. It's the whole group.
Some how I get the feeling that someone trying to do something nice for someone and totally voluntary is a bad thing.
Prove me wrong. Visit the site. It you hate seeing cleaned up images from over 60 years ago, then don't visit. That's what you are going to find there.

Gerry.

Kudos for a job well done.

Very nice tribute site to an often overlooked unit with
many excellent wartime images.

Well worth a look for anyone interested in the Pacific
air war.

Bob & Tony
Thank You so much for your kind words. I have the inspiration of Jack Heyn, Bill Beck & the other veterans and relatives to make me push forward. Tony, If you have images you would like enhanced, feel free to contact me at : gerrykersey@gmail.com . I don't charge veterans or their relatives for trying to make an old photo a little more viewable. I'm looking at your site now. I believe Bob is about to dive off into the CBI, if the PTO doesn't cause him to pull all his hair out. LOL.
Thank You both for your support.

Gerry,

I think I could make you regret your very kind offer.  The nephew of Eugene Wozniak, the 491st BmSq's Combat Photographer/ NCOIC of the photo lab, gave me 3300+ 341st Bm Gp related photo prints from his uncle's estate, along with 2400+ negatives... Yea! However, none of them are annotated... boo!

Actually the vast majority of those are in excellent shape. A few of my dad's photos have faded, but I already had them redone.

Thanks anyway.  I haven't done anything with my website tributes in five years or so.  I lost motivation after nearly four years of 20-35 hours a week research and writing html code and vast majority of my advisors and contributors had passed on.

I have been working on a book, trying to blend in anecdotes from twenty-eight veterans with official "facts" from reports and histories.  Biggest problem is trying to determine what the most probable "truth" is, or at least which story/report is closest to actual happening.  Nonetheless, I enjoy the challenge.

Continued best wishes for success with your project.

Me & my big mouth. Actually I only have 3 regrets - 1. I'm 61 and feeling older by the second. 2. There are only 24 hours in a day. 3. That I wasn't born wealthy. My dad retired from the AF after 20 years. He was a Master Sgt. E-8 when he got out back in 1962. Unfortunately he's no longer around. I hope that you are able to re-capture the researching spirit. And Thanks for the encouragement. My friend Jack Heyn, 13th BS photographer has his own collection he is sharing. I was just offering since you were so encouraging to me. The 3rd has long been neglected & I hope to correct that. I'm adding a link to The Reaper's Harvest book on the main page. Very interesting and helpful to a no knowledge of WWII. I'm learning though.
Take care & keep checking the site for updates.

Thanks for the compliment. The only sharkmouths I have seen so far were probably with  the 89th Squadron or maybe the 90th. The only others would be P-51 Mustangs, but they only has A-20's or B-25's with the 3rd that I know of. I am a little dense at times since I started building this site. Can you clarify? I am going to the store to buy beer and ciggies. I am preparing to bath a boy dog and needed to get a little buzz before I tackle this chore. You can contact me at gerrykersey@gmail.com
I might have some Mustang photos somewhere on my cluttered desktop
