381st Bomb Group Museum, Ridgewell, England
For those of you who are not aware, there is a small museum on the site of the base hospital at Station 167 Ridgewell. Our web-site (will be updated later this year) is at http://www.381st.com For anybody planning a trip to England, please contact me at jim@381st.com, give us a little notice and we'll do our best to meet you and, if possible, give a tour of what is left of the base.

Jim, Unfortunately I shall not be able to visit the museum, but I wish to thank you for your continuing dedication to keeping the 381st story alive. Well done!

Went to Ridgwell in late May '98 & was given a personal tour by Dave Osbourne (to include the King's Head pub!) Hope to return in the near future to see the museum! Cheers! Chris Lewis

Jim, I heard from Kevin that you were also at the AF Museum on the Monday following the air show in Detroit. I wish I had known in advance as I would have tried my best to meet up if at all possible. Just an added note ... I mailed you this morning by International Mail First Class, a set of the four (4) 381st Coasters and holder ... enjoy them with my "thanks" for all you have done for the group and me personally over the years via email ... Perhaps you may make the reunion in 2012 here at Dayton if it goes thru. Jerry

Hi Jerry, It was indeed a pity that neither of us knew that each other was at the museum. Still, another time perhaps - 2012 is a distinct possibility. It is very kind of you to send a set of coasters and they certainly will be enjoyed. Thanks also for everything you do. Take care and kind regards, Jim

An update on the Museum. This year we have acquired use of the remainder of the Quonset hut in which the museum is situated. There is much work to be done but, hopefully, from next year the museum will be three times as big. Come and see us if you can.

Jim, My Postal receipt shows the coasters were mailed on Augus 26th ... just curious as to whether or not they arrived yet. Jerry

Hi Jerry, Yes the coasters arrived just the other day and very nice they are too. I've been trying to email you at your old email address but they are bouncing. I guess you have a new address now. Could you email me on jim@381st.com with your new address please? Many thanks, Jim

I am taking our two sons, Nicholas and Jake, along with my wife Vicki, to Ridgewell this coming week. Hope to connect with you folks then. My father was Lt. Col. Charles L. Halsey, Sq. Commander for the 535th. - Rick rwhalsey@gmail.com
