I have recently located additional information regarding my Father's service. He was attached to HQ, most likely, Ketteringham Hall. What are the chances of locating information other M.P.'s who may have been stationed there, from 1943 - 1946?

I checked some station lists ( I do not have them all) that I have for 1943 and I do not show any Military Police unt at Ketteringham. However on the 21 February 1944 list it shows that the Detachment A of the 1119 Military Police Company was there. How do you find a list of personnel in a unit? The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) has some payroll records that contain a wealth of information---GOOD NEWS. They show the soldier’s name, service number, rank, and the amount they were paid that month. They are of use in finding a person but to use them you need to know some specific data. You need the EXACT unit name, which you have as the 1119th MP Company and also the month and year of interest. BAD NEWS. The payroll records for all units do not exist for the years 1944-1946. If you want to take a chance you could order the payroll records for the 1119th Military Police Company for 31 December 1943 and assume that the personnel in the unit did not change much until they show up at Ketteringham. You can request, for a price, the payroll records from the NPRC and be prepared for a very long wait (the wheels of government are lubricated with molasses.) I should mention that the records once received are not the easiest things to read. What you get is a photo copy, from microfilm, that was produced from a carbon copy. Some letters like a, e, & o look a lot alike and some numbers are hard to read also but you can always make intelligent guesses.
