The SNAFU Special was from 95th TCS - 440th TCG during WWII
She flew ALL major operations during the war
D-Day - Dragoon - Market garden - Repulse - Varsity
On D-Day (with 8 other planes of the 440th TCG) she was assigned to the 302nd TCS - 441st TCS to complete the second serial of the 441st (45 planes). For the Albany mission, she flew Serial #15 Chalk Number #88, carrying 18 paratroopers and 450 lbs of supply.

After the war the plane was sold to Czech airlines then French army then yugoslavia. She was machine-gunned in 1992 during the war in balkans and since this time was left on an airfield near sarajevo..
And the story ended at Merville where she is now displayed in her markings of D-Day... The ceremony for her dedication was saturday 7 june.
