313 TCG 29 TCS 10 Apr 45 casualties

The ABMC website has two casualties with 29 TCS, 313 TCG on 10 April 1945, both buried at Cambridge, England.
They are 2 Lt Kendall W. De Courval and SSgt Millard E. Warren.

I wonder if their deaths have something to do with a collision that day with a Spitfire flown by Group Captain G.L. Raphael (RCAF). It is said he collided with a C-46 Commando over Kent. Some sources say C-47, however.

The transport plane reportedly flew POWs home.

313rd TCG flew C-46 transports at that time?

If anyone has more info about a possible collision of a C-46 on 10 Apr 45, then much appreciated for your help.

The 313th Troop Carrier grrop was assigned C-46's to replace their C-47's starting in January, 1945.  The 313th was the first Troop Carrier Group in the European Theatre to be equipped with C-47's. 
 
The only airborne mission in the European Theatre that C-46's were used in was Operation Varsity in Late March.  The IXth Troop Carrier Command prohibited combat use of the C-46 after Operation Varsity because of the vulnerability of its hydraulic control systems and its lack of self sealing gas tanks.
 
The squadrons of the 313th did have C-47's at the time you have inquired about.

Leendert, have checked with a 313th TCG veteran (49th TCS); he has checked available history book and says he doesn't ever remember hearing about it. At Aviation Archaeology there is no reference to a 313th TCG accident report from April 10th 1945. 313th TCG used some of their C-46's for their final operation of note on May 10th 1945, transporting British Troops to Stavanger, Norway.

Thanks for the reply. If the collision story on 10 April 1945 holds, then perhaps the transport plane was of another TCG, but indeed, no entry found on aviationarchaeology.com to that effect.
 
Will look further in USAAF loss lists.

Received preliminary word that 2 Lt DeCourval (CP) and Sgt Warren (Crew chief) were on board a C-46 that was involved in the accident on 10 April 1945. Both 2 Lt William Blanton (P) and Sgt Douglas D. Dineen (RO) were killed too.  They were with 313rd TCG, 29th TCS.
Death cause for all four is given as DNB: Died Non Battle

The C-46 was on a freight run and no POWs were involved. This may explain that this crash is hardly known?

I hope to hear more, including confirmation of serial.
