Visible B-17 kit

just noticed that Revell-Monogram is re-issuing their 1/48 scale B=l7G kit--visible in that right side of fuselage is clear meaning interior can be detailed.  I built one of these long ago (probably late '70's or even l980) but since then a lot of accessory kits have become availble so that the model can really turn into a museum piece.

If you're interested try ehobbyland.com--they're accepting pre-orders and release date is supposed to be in Feb--they won't charge your card until kit is shipped.  It's nice that we won't have to rely on inflated Ebay prices (into the $100+ areas).

True Details has separate kits for waist gunner, bombardier and cockpit sections.  There are others too--try squadron.com

By the way, kit price is $22.95 excluding shipping.

If I remember correctly, it is the left side of the Visible B-17 fuselage that is Clear plastic.

The model also includes a standard left side fuselage piece for those who don't wish to model the clear side.  TonyM.

it IS the left side fuselage which is clear, and.....it comes with extra parts so you can add the "cheyenne" tail. also includes crew members in addition to the ground crew figures.   pretty much everything the old PRO MODELER kit had with the exception of the photoetched detail set.
