"Big Jim" Grewe passed away today in Denver, CO. Jim was the co-pilot on Tom Mustaleski's crew, and flew 30 missions with the 447th from January to April of 1945.

My father who was the navigator on Jim's crew, was reunited with Jim after some sixty years.  Attached is a photo of them in 2005 holding a painting I commissioned based on one of their missions.  Mr. Grewe is on the left.

Like many from the 447th before him, and sadly those who will follow, I say thank you and you will be missed.

Sincerely,

Rob Kirkwood

RE: In rememberance of Mr. Jim Grewe
My prayers go out to Mr Grewe's family and friends.
May God bless and give comfort and strength to Mr. Grewe's family and friends.
We know that God has welcomed Mr Grewe home.  Mr Grewe is in a paradise where there will never be any such horrors that he faced.  Healthy, strong and forever embraced by God's love.

And may God bless all the other 447th families and the families of the those who go in harms way today.
