Dear Sir
I am a member of an association (CRIBA) who try do to get in contact with Veterans of the last conflict in Europe. To do this work, I'm collecting several pictures taken by Belgian People during this conflict in our country, and notably those of this B-17G. Following my bases (serial of the aircraft, tail markings), this B-17G was from the 526TH BS-379 BG - 8th AF based at Kimbolton - UK ;this " Seventeen " crashed in BRA S/LIENNE, ARDENNES - BELGIUM in end of September 1944.I know that all the crew of this plane was alive after crashing and dissimulated by the population before come the Feldpolizei ! The People of this village says to me that the pilot was Bobby STAFFORD and de the copilot Harry TRUCKMANN.
Would you be as kind as to confirm me those informations about this crew and this plane and what was their mission in september 1944 ?
Thank you very much , indeed
Jean DE BASTIANI
PS : please accept this pictures four your archives.
