Thats part of the reason I get all the new ones that come out- I love to stumble across pics I haven't seen yet. Never know what you'll find. If I can ever get acces to a scanner I'll scan and post my grandfathers pics from Debden.

Got that Squadro-Signal book, my god what an abomination. So inaccurate that its a disservice to the 4th to publish it. I can see a few mistakes in identification and dates in a book on a little-known unit, but a book so full of errors on such a well known and publicised unit is just inexcuseable. The editor who let that book see print should be fired. I wish I knew how to contact the publishers, I'd let them know exactly what I think of it. This book really brings the accuracy of their other unit histories into question for me.

The squadron books do have problems but they do have photo's in most of them that are rare. They are cheep in one way or another. One thing that I notice is the author's who's father/grandfather who flew or that were in that group are more accurate than some one who just kranks them out. Then again 100% accurate is not going to happin ,60 years ago is a long time . I guess you seen the photo of Capt. McGrattan's P-51B ,cool! Rick

I do hope this is not that off topic: is the group's web site still live? It doesn't seem to have been updated for ages... Regards, Filip

I haven't checked it in ages, so I'm not sure, but I know the last time I looked it hadn't been updated in several years. Most of the links were broken and the section on current events was woefully behind. I can't see it having been updated since then, since there would be years worth of work required.

There'll be at least one more out soon: I'm working on one for Osprey's Elite Aviation Units series. My manuscript is at 78,000 words, which is a mere 30,000 more than the word limit! :) So, does anyone have a profile they'd like to see? Or a photo they'd like to see with a correct caption? --Chris Bucholtz

I'd suggest starting a new thread for that- great topic, but try to keep this one on point. Plus if Its buried in this old thread people might miss it.
