looking for info on the "Irish Male"???

My granddad, AudaVee Lewis, was the top turret and flight engineer on a plane that I and my family believe was called the Irish Male. If anyone has any info about my granddad or this plane please contact me. I am new to this and would like to know more. Honestly I am just guessing here b/c we know very little about my granddad's time in Europe b/c he never really talked about it. I have been on the 388th website and did not see the plane's name, so I am just throwing out there to see if a fish might bite. He could not have been but a little more than 18 when he went over and when he came back I believe he spent about a year at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. My granddad was born in and raised in Big Spring, TX. He died in 1982. Married to Royce LaVerne Porch and had 3 kids-- Sharon, Mary, and Bill (my dad).

Chris, Your grandfather's enlistment record can be viewed at http://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-detail.jsp?dt=893&mtch=1&cat=WR26&tf=F&sc=24994,24995,24996,24998,24997,24993,24981,24983&bc=sl,fd&txt_24995=lewis+auda&op_24995=0&nfo_24995=V,24,1900&rpp=10&pg=1&rid=7321452 His service number would be a good key upon which to do further research. Good luck and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Andy
