Hello friends, many of you know the Romagna Air Finders, the Humanitarian and Historical association for the recovery of crashed airplanes and pilot's bodyes. On saturday 7 of july, the body of a Me-109 pilot will be recovered from the ground where he lies for 60 years.
On september 5, 1944 a flight of 9 B-25 leaded by Lt. Sutton took off to bomb the bridge at Polesella. They was jumped by four Me-109 belonging to the JG53. One of these was hit by the B-25's fire and shot down near Mirandola (province of Modena, north italy).
I cannot yet post the pilot's name due to secret reason (avoid journalists speculation) but if anyone is interested i can tell him with MP.
An echelon of the today Luftwaffe will be attending the operations, i'll post on the forum photos of the event.
GOOD 4th OF JULY TO ALL!!
Mick
