Hi George, Hayes was the bombardier of B-24 J, serial number 42-78671 piloted by 1Lt James Creekmore. MACR 10496 is posted on Footnote.com and runs 43 pages. Aircraft was last seen at take off and never made it to assembly. Statement regarding Hayes attached below. Hal

The crew flew to Odertal with the 461st BG.
Plane crashed in the area of Prerov, Czechoslovakia. Shot down by a fighter.
