Looking for information/photos of Col. William P. McBride, who I believe was Commander of 404th squadron.

I can be wrong but I think Lt. Col. Willian P. McBride was commander of the 371st FG from Sept. 1945 on. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, sorry.

I have a yearbook that my father received on the 371 FG.  My father was in the 405th.  William McBride was a commanding officer for teh 404th.  However the book does not indicatd the time frame as to when he was commander.  It probably had to be after May 1945 since it shows other commanders from July 43 to May 45.  I found two pictures of him in the yearbook.  Not sure if you have a copy of this book.  I could try to scan the pictures and email them to you.

In your year book, did you see Duane F. Wroe? I'm looking for any information about him. If it's of any help to you, here's his USAAF serial number A 0704379.

Thanks for the offer. I also have the 371st. History along with many of General McBride's papers and am looking for other photos of him that I may not have.

No I did not find that name listed in the back of the book, that had all of the units assinged to the 371st.

Tom - Kenn Rust's  History of the 9th AF shows 371st FG Commanded by
Col. Bingham T. Kleine to September , 1945.
