What squadron are these P-47's from?

The pilot is 1Lt. Chester Wade Lawrence, 359FS, 356FG. He was killed on January 18, 1945 when he crashed into the North Sea 20 miles SE of Clacton on Sea, England while decending through an overcast returning from Airfield A-70, Loan, France. It seems the squadron code is G7. The photo was supposedly taken at Leicester Airport, Leicester, MA. Can anyone identify the squadron? Okay I can't get the photo to up load so let me describe the aircraft. The P-47 in the background is a razorback in overall olive drab with possibly squadron code G7. The wing partially blocks the lettering. The number 74 is on the cowling and the national insignia is a star and bar with blue surround. The P-47 in the foreground is natural finish and is only visible from the leading edge forward. The name "Dee Dee" is on the cowling along with the number 75. The numbers are about 12 inches tall. Both aircraft have a light colored band about 18 inches wide painted around the inlet of the cowling. At the middle of the band it sweeps aft into a point. Can anyone identify the squadron?

Patrick these are training codes; the letter identifies the base ( "G" = Greenville, Gunter or Grenier ), the number is the plane ID. These seem to have the same markings; they have 4 guns only so probably gunnery training. The 356FG was at Grenier July-Aug. 1943 before shipping to UK. (the 359FS code was " OC " ). I've got a note here which says these are at Greenville ( Lord knows from where ). The first 3 are 41-6275, 42-22352 and 42-75489. The P-47 Database is down at present so can't check. Incidentally Lawrence is on the WOM at Cambridge. Regards Nick
