What is the device called " the Carpet " used on May 8, 1944 ?

The 100thBG used a New device called the Carpet on its May 8, 1944 mission to Berlin . What exactly was this New device called the Carpet ?

    "Carpet" was an anti-aircraft radar jammer.   It was used against the Würzburg  radar system.   Generally two planes in each squadron would carry the "carpet" jamming equipment.
