Walter Theodore Jorgensen

Hi folks, I'm looking for information on Walter Theodore Jorgensen (1922 - 2002). He was with 43th Squadron, 29th Group. I don't know if he was a pilot or a flight engineer. His daughter contacted me, but unfortunately she doesn't know much about her father's past. The little data I have came from the old personal diary of mr. Jorgensen, which his daughter won't send to me by mail (I can understand her reasons). Well, if you can help me on this matter, it will be much appreciated. Here's a pic of mr. Jorgensen, sent by his daughter. I don't know, maybe it helps in some way...

There is an enlistment record of a Walter T. Jorgensen from Nassau County, NY, army serial # 12187844. Enlisted 23 Nov 1942 in NYC.
Born 1922.
Record seems to indicate he was a flight engineer (T/Sgt).

Sir, According to info shared by Mr. Bob McCarthy, Tail Gunner-Hayes Crew, Mr. Jorgenson was a flight engineer on the Broderick Crew.

Since you've located mr. Jorgensen on Herb Broderick's crew, can you tell me the serial number of his B-29, as well as the "name"? If there's any pictures, please post them!

Please go to the 29th Bomb Group website where you may be able to obtain more info. Signing in on the sites guestbook in Mr. Jorgenssons name may get a response from any surviving Crew members.

Broderick is mentioned under 43rd BS/29th BG.
Other crew members seem to have included Ed T. Derringe and Joe P. Liesenfelt, deceased in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

I've already contacted them... but they're busy doing the preparations for the next meeting on November 7th. Anyway, I'm justing asking if someone knows the serial number, since you know the crew... Thanks!!

I am a son of Ed Derringe. Dad and Walter "Pinky" stayed in contact until Walter passed. I remember Dad sending school supplies to Brazil for Walter's daughter because they were so hard to come by there. My sister has Dad's personal items since he has passed and I will ask her to try to find a serial number. Here is a picture that I believe to be of their plane, Dad refered to it as "Dracula 26". Please have her contact me or contact me on her behalf, we will share with her any information about her father that we have.
