Walker Army Airfield At Victoria, Kansas - 08/25/2006 06:29:42 AM
Were any of you stationed at Walker Army Airfield?  B-29 Training field.  Did you or any of your relatives fly out of Walker during 1943-45.  I have quite a bit of info on this Airfield and would like to contact anyone that was there or has information on those that were.  Thank you, Phillip

Phillip,
My father and his crew were stationed at Walker AAF in 1944.  They were the crew of "The Leading Lady", Z Square 22, of the 882nd Squadron, 500th BG.  I have some info on Walker as well as a few feet of film which shows downtown Hays, KS in 1944 (only a few seconds on a VHS).  I would be interested in what you have.  I know of several people who live in Hays now who have quite a bit of information also.
Ken Fine
Son of Lt Kenneth F Fine, original navigator on Z Square 22, "The Leading Lady", crew #201. Dad had been with the crew since 1944 in Victoria, KS.
