Greg...First...ALL WW Two Aircraft Instruments are of two types. Designated by A/N....for Army/Navy, and are completely interchangeable with each other for ALL aircraft. 1. Fluorescent... Radium Dial ...(Illuminated by a small Fluorescent Bulb installed in a C-5 instrument Lamp Assembly. 2. Radium Dial......Self Illuminating (Designed for Night Fighters). Therefore to say that this particular instrument came from a CG-4A glider is completely possible, but then, a like compass could have come from ANY WW TWO aircraft. You will have to take the word of the individual seller for any history. It MAY have come from a glider or ANY other aircraft...they are all the same. Other Mfgs besides the Airpath, were Kollsman and Pioneer...all made to the exact same specifications. This information is from my copy of Technical Order 00-45-1, Accessories for Airplanes-Engines Interchangebility Cross reference Charts dated 5 February 1945. Jim :-)
